WHAT IS A THERAPY SESSION LIKE?

In the beginning I ask quite a few questions so I can get to know you, what you'd like to work on, and how to best help you. Later session will be geared toward problem solving, skill building, and allowing you to process how you're feeling.  I really like the explanation from this blog post as well, "How therapy actually works and 5 myths about therapy debunked".

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

I accept all major credit and debit cards.

WHAT IF I WANT TO USE MY INSURANCE?

I accept the insurance plans listed below pending a verification of coverage.  If your plan is not listed below I can provide a document called a super bill that can be used to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company at the rate allowed for an out of network provider.  I’d be happy to explain more about this or you can read about it here.

Accepted Insurance plans:

Aetna

Cigna

United Healthcare

AM I GETTING THE SAME SERVICE DOING THERAPY VIRTUALLY?

The answer to this question is yes and no.  The therapeutic interventions and insights offered will be exactly the same but the process of Telehealth will feel very different and in some ways better.  As long as you have a stable connection and headphones for privacy you can attend your session while you walk your dog, from the comfort of your favorite room in the house, or while away on vacation.  Since there is no commute you are free to see any therapist with a license to practice in California, opening up your options immensely, and allowing you to keep your same therapist if you move or your work schedule changes.  Check out this article on a few other benefits to virtual therapy.
